Angels of Hope is a non profit organization founded in 1998 by two  lay Catholic  Missionaries, Virginia and Michael Marroquin.

Initially, the Marroquins created a mission compound in the Amazon jungles of Bolivia, aimed to improve the health and educational conditions of the indigenous population directly affected by the cocoa  leaf eradication process.

Virginia, following her heart desire ,is branching out to her native homeland of Brazil, to initiate a long term social development care  program , as she is aware of the social/economical distress. She herself  has experienced a lack of opportunities as a child, growing up under dictatorship regime in a large family of modest means. She knows how hard it is to transcend the barrier of poverty. It takes  HOPE, courage, discipline, faith, family and friends support to attain a dream.

Virginia has accomplished a lot since her first day of attending school in Brazil back in the early 60s.

As she walked barefoot, without  the required school uniform, she carried a notebook and a pencil on her hands but she envisioned her dreams with her heart. Learning, sharing, serving and giving is her way of life.

In September 2007, Virginia received her latest achievement,  the American Citizenship. She feels very honored and proud since she has spent most of her adult life living in America, a land she learned to love and respect for its unlimeted possibilities and freedom.

Virginia's inspiration  is based on her faith. She has dedicated many years evangelizing children and adults. She has attended many  schools and international seminars to prepare herself to perform  these tasks. She has owned and manage d her own small business  in  Austin,Texas, which was sold  along with her own home, back in 1998 to build her mission in Bolivia.

She strongly  believes that justice and faith walk hand on hand. You can only love and give when you have it in your heart.

Virginia has a grown son, Charlie,  who work s and lives in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She also has a n adopted daughter, Roxie, living in Bolivia. She feels the calling to do some good work at home, bringing her life experience to fulfill  the needy children 's dreams and expectations.
