The Water Tanks...before and after

Before

This water tank was abandoned by a local clinic.  The structure was falling apart and the families in the area were extracting water simply by putting tubes directly into the concrete wall.

After

Concrete places in the water tank were patched with new concrete.  A roof was added.  The tank was cleaned and new pipes were installed in a professional manner for the neighbors already using the water.  A new pipe was added to pump water to a retaining tank at the Castillo and then to the School.

This is the retaining wall behind the pink water tank.  During the rainy season, rocks and mud will slide down the hill damaging the tank.  This retaining wall, built by volunteers, will redirect the falling debris around the tank.  Written in the concrete are the words "Por los Ninos" or "For the children."

Castillo Tank

This is the water tank on the Castillo property.  Water is pumped from the pink water tank to this water tank where it is held until the school uses it.  The tank was cleaned, reinforced with cement, and a retaining wall was added to protect the tank.  (Sorry but there are no before pictures.)
