Villa Tunari

Villa Tunari is about a fifteen minute walk from the Castillo Dormitory.  Here are some pictures of the sites you will find in town.

Internet Café

Rodrigo (right) not only offers internet, but he also has a menu that reminds you of home.

We are actually not that far away from civilization!

Restaurants

Villa Tunari is home to over 50 restaurants.  Bolivian food is actually diverse and delicious.  You can get chicken, beef and fresh water fish.  Most of the meals are served with rice and yuca...staples of the Bolivian diet.

Shops in Town

Villa Tunari is a pretty small town, but has many small shops where you can find almost anything you need.  Some things you won´t be able to find here are tobasco, coffee beans and mouth wash.

It may not be what you are used to...but it works.
Take a look inside.

I know this picture is a little blurry, but I am sure you will still be able to recognize some familar products: off, head n shoulders, and pantene.

Things you may not see everyday...

A popular mode of transportation is standing on the back of a truck.  In fact, entire families will make the five hour trip to Cochabamba in the back of a truck sitting on top of their bananas and oranges.

Cows graze on the side of the road...as do chickens.  You may not be able to tell, but that is a chicken in the grass to the right of the statue.
