- All these rules, or guidelines, have been created to respect and care for the local population, to protect wildlife and the local environment, and to ensure the integrity of the foundation and its employees and volunteers.
- Nature and the surrounding habitat will be cared for and respected, as it was your own yard. No cutting down or digging without the express permission of the staff of Foundation Angels of Hope Volunteer Division.
- No giving the locals candy or other free items such as gifts without the express permission of the foundation staff.
- No drinking at any of the foundation's facilities day or night. Volunteers are welcome to drink at the local lounges, bars, and discos. Please drink responsibly.
- There will be a curfew at 12 midnight Sunday through Thursday and 4AM Friday and Saturday nights. We ask this with respect for the other volunteers and staff that may be working the next day or sleeping. The pupose is to ensure your safety and the safety of the people around you.
- All local and national laws must be obeyed and respected. Breaking one will terminate your stay at the foundation. The staff of the foundation will respect, and work with, the local and national police in all criminal matters.
- No Drugs! The Chapare region is one of the highest coca leaf (used to make cocaine) production areas in the world. The United States DEA is very active in the area and will CATCH YOU. This is the dumbest thing you could do here. Just say NO!
- Any inappropriate and unwanted sexual advances toward locals, the staff, or other volunteers will not be tolerated.
These guidelines and rules are provided to protect our volunteers, and to insure that your stay is both pleasant and a productive. Any suggestions concerning these rules and guidelines will definitely be considered.
